Day Eight: 30 Day Challenge

Day Eight: A little about the barn/stable you are at

How about a visual tour?  My home is a mid 1800's farmhouse set on roughly 30 acres.  The barn and house are not "pretty", need a lot of updating and fixing, but the barn is safe and functional.  That is all that matters.  We own 15 acres in a neighbooring town and someday will build the "dream farm".  Someday........

Here is my house a few springs ago...the driveway is there on the left.  If you continue along straight (which looks right in this pic) the road becomes a "discontinued" town road.  Yes, I live in the middle of the woods!  And that is a cat in the pic...
Here is my barn...the house is right outside the view on the right.  You can see Dreamy in the front paddock.
Awwww, here is what my barn looks like right now from the house...though this was taken in 2008.  Actually right now the snow banks are MUCH taller.  Like 16' taller.
The back end of my barn.  Sparky's stall is on the right.  Dreamy and Reva are on the left.

Sparky's stall!  You can see the old barn of the barn (right wall) and the new construction when we built the stalls in 2003.
Reva's stall!  She (and Dreamy) are spoiled with 12x16' stalls.

Sparky relaxing in the aisle on a spring day.

I don't have any good pics of my tack room, but here is the corner of it where my grain is kept!  LOL!  (I use an old chest freezer.)  This is an older pic because Reva's info is not even written on the board.
My barn manager....he was two in this pic.  :-D
It is crazy to think he used to be able to fit inside the grain buckets....he is three in this pic.  This was a warm spring morning at feed time!  LOL!

beautiful pix! I am so jealous of your pretty barn...but not even slightly jealous of your weather.

Ugh, I'm jealous. (I've been saying that waaaay too much lately) The house looks beautiful, and the barn even more so. The history nut over here saw the house and fall in love. I however would prefer it located in California... sans snow ;)
